PINNY AWARDS: FOOD & WORDS OF WISDOM

Happy Friday!  It's time to continue handing out Pinny Awards to some of my favorite folks on Pinterest.  Today I'm going to give awards in the "Food" and "Words of Wisdom" categories.  Without further adieu…

SKINNYTASTE - Some of you probably already know and love Gina from Skinnytaste, but she has (seriously) changed my life!  For most of my adult life, I've been conscious of what goes into the food I cook.  I like things to be relatively light, but like everyone, I want it to taste really, really good.  It's been hard to figure out how to accomplish both of those things together, but Gina has come to the rescue.  She uses real food and simple, easy-to-follow recipes, and the result is consistently a delicious, crowd-pleasing meal that helps you keep your waistline in check!  She even gives you the Weight Watchers points values of her recipes on her blog.  I never, ever make a grocery list without first consulting her pins.

COOKIN' CANUCK - It's a great name, isn't it?  I'll be honest - I hadn't heard of Dara or her amazing blog before I started following a Pinterest board called "Most Pinned Recipes," which was set up by a group of food bloggers and gives you access to much deliciousness.  I always gravitate to Dara's recipes because, like Skinnytaste, they are pretty simple to make, and they are geared toward health-consious folks.  These are not diet recipes, per se, and she does occasionally pin a sinful dessert, but because of her own get-healthy journey, she focuses on recipes that are good for you…and your family.  Go get your apron, open her Pinterest page, close your eyes, and point to something.  It will be amazing!

ROSIE MOLINARY - I have never been a big fan of "inspirational quotes."  I often find them to be trite, sappy, and a little too "self-helpy" for my taste.  Having said that, my friend, Rosie, manages to pin some great quotes that I feel like I can relate to.  Maybe I'm just getting more sappy in my old age, but things like "You don't have to have it all figured out to move forward" are things worth remembering from time to time.

Speaking of Rosie, she is not only my friend, but an amazing author, educator, and champion of people.  She will be in Richmond on Saturday, Feburary 15th from 1:00-5:00pm to lead a workshop called visionSPARK, intended to help you think about who and and how you want to be in life and to give your dreams clarity and vision.  I will be there, and I'd love to see you, too!  Register here, or email me with questions!

Next week I'll be giving out Pinny Awards for Fashion.  You won't want to miss it.

I strive to make wardrobe choices clear and easy for women who are short on time, overwhelmed by their closets, or transitioning from one period of life to another.  Let's connect!
