TRY OR TRASH TREND: MULES

Just like clothing, shoe trends come and go.  This spring, the mule is making a big comeback.  I have memories of wearing these backless shoes in college, and I never actually thought they were all that cute.  "People" were wearing them, so I was wearing them.  Kind of like Birkenstocks (which are also making a comeback, but do we really need to discuss whether or not that's a good idea?).

I've seen a lot of examples that are absolute "no's" for me because of their…well…their ugliness.  I've seen some made with great leather in great colors, but I just can't get past the shape.  I've also seen a few that I might be willing to try, because designers have made the shape modern enough to envision wearing with my current wardrobe.  I've learned to never say never, but I've also learned that if you have to force yourself to get on board with what may be a quickly passing trend, it's probably better to just stick with what you know you love.

It seems like lots of the stomach-able pairs are way too pricey, but I feel sure that as the season moves along, you'll find more options in all price ranges.

Will you try or trash this Spring trend?  Link me to your favorites.

I strive to make wardrobe choices clear and easy for women who are short on time, overwhelmed by their closets, or transitioning from one period of life to another.  Let's connect!

  1. We would probably trash this trend. There's just something about having a slip on that we just don't like. They look great on others though!

    1. Jayme and Mendi - I think I agree with you. There are too many trends I'm excited about to jump on one that I'm not!
