A VERY WEARABLE TREND: PLAID

Back in February, clothing designers came together in NYC to show us what we'd be wearing this fall.  In February, I'm so excited to get out my spring wardrobe that fall fashion is the furthest thing from my mind.  But, they decided on the spring fashion back in the previous summer...whatever.  Moving along, one of the trends that was predicted (dictated) for this fall was plaid.  Tartan, buffalo check, hounds tooth...all of it.  Here are some of the runway looks that I particularly like:

3.1 Phillip Lim

Aquilano. Rimondi

Alberta Ferretti

Mulberry

Emerson

Here are some pieces that are probably a little easier to wear in real life, and they're certainly more affordable!

I'm pretty excited about plaid.  It seems like a really practical and wearable trend.  The difficulty may be in looking fashion-forward, rather than too "granny" or too "grunge".  I think the balance will be in the styling.  You won't necessarily want to wear ripped up jeans with your plaid button-down.  Similarly, you may opt for something a little more edgy than a white oxford shirt with your plaid skirt.

If you need help striking the perfect balance, I'd love to help!    If you want to know more about my personal styling services in Richmond, VA, I would love to hear from you.  Let's connect!
