FRIDAY STYLE TIP: WEAR DIRTY JEANS

Yep.  The more you wash your jeans, the faster they lose their shape and color.  I try not to wash my jeans unless they have a visible stain that I can't get out by spot cleaning (or unless I've worn them on a plane, which, for some reason, leaves me feeling more germy than usual).

But I wouldn't make you go around in smelly jeans!!  If you start to catch an unpleasant whiff of yourself in your favorite denim, throw it in a plastic zipper bag and place it in the freezer for 2 days.  This will kill the odor (and the germs) without sacrificing that beautiful dark wash!

(A side note to moms:  This trick also works with stuffed animals that can't be machine washed.)

If you simply MUST wash your jeans after every wear, wash inside-out in cold water, and add 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar to the final since cycle, which will help to maintain the color.  Hang to dry.  But you will be buying new jeans before I do!

I strive to make wardrobe choices clear and easy for women who are short on time, overwhelmed by their closets, or transitioning from one period of life to another.  Let's connect!
