BARGAIN SHOPPING. OK, DISCOUNT SHOPPING.

The Outnet

Clockwise(ish) from top left:  ZAC Zac Posen clutch // Equipment silk & wool sweater // McQ Alexander McQueen sandals // Monica Vinader ring // Helmut Lang jacquard seahorse dress // J.Crew silk pj's // ZAC Zac Posen shoulder bag // T by Alexander Wang silk dress // 12th Street by Cynthia Vincent ankle boots // Rochas brocade top

I have been known to hunt endlessly for a good bargain.  My husband reminds me a lot that just because it's discounted doesn't mean it's a bargain, and I know he's right!  It's certainly not a bargain if you never wear it, and I hardly ever find a high-end designer piece that I think is a true steal.

That being said, I sometimes find myself really digging the aesthetic of a designer and wanting to get my hands on just one piece.  That's my tough luck with certain designers (ahem…Chanel), but I've found some pretty steep discounts on websites like Barney's Warehouse, Farfetch (look in the sale section), Neiman Marcus Last Call, Matchesfashion.com (sale section), and one of my favorites, The Outnet.  The Outnet is the sister/outlet site to Net-a-Porter.  According to Natalie Massenet, Founder and Chairman at Net-a-Porter, "Great fashion won't disappear - it will go to The Outnet!"

I know that "affordable" is subjective, but "discounted" is not.  If you're interested in a designer, but their full-priced items are out of your price range, try some of these online options.  You may just find a bargain, yet!
