(MY) FALL FASHION ESSENTIALS

I sometimes get tired of seeing the lists of "must haves" for every woman's closet.  For starters, if I bought everything on everyone's list of "things no one could possibly live without this season,"  there'd be no room in my house for me!  Also, most of the things I see on these lists do not factor in any kind of budget.  Finally, and most importantly, what do these list makers know about my style, my shape, my coloring, my likes and dislikes?  Nothing, that's what.  So let me be clear when I tell you that what you see below represents the staples that I (Joanna) would like to have in my closet this fall.  Drumroll...

Now that we're clear on whose list this is, let me say that I DO think lots of women could benefit from having some of these items (or something similar) in their closets.  Fitted blazers, cute flats, versatile accessories, etc. are things I often recommend to clients.  I can look at this collage and easily come up with 10-15 combinations that could take you from errand running to cocktail party.  (Ooooh, do I feel a style challenge coming on??)  But these basics leave room for adding pieces with more flair and personality to create a very personal, exciting, cool weather wardrobe.

What do you think of my essentials?  What are yours?  If you see something on this list that you like, and you'd like me to find something similar (maybe a different color or a less expensive version), let me know.  I'm up for the challenge!

*P.S. - The gorgeous striped shirt is available at local boutique, Verdalina (the most beautiful shop I ever did see), in an array of colors.  Better get there before I do.

As a personal stylist in Richmond, VA, I strive to make wardrobe choices clear and easy for women who are short on time, overwhelmed by their closets, or transitioning from one period of life to another.  Let's connect!
